See trees in a different light this winter during Illumination: Tree Lights at The Morton Arboretum. Combining cutting-edge light technology with the beautiful, wooded landscapes of the Arboretum, Illumination is not your typical lights event. An experience far beyond traditional twinkling lights, Illumination engages the senses with trees that respond to touch and sound, dazzling light projections and vivid, electrifying colors throughout.
The first event of its kind in the Chicago area, Illumination takes visitors on a mile-long, paved walking trail winding around the Arboretum’s Meadow Lake and down its Conifer Walk, to interact with trees virtually brought to life by LED lighting technology. See trees that light up when you hug them, or trees that change color when you sing to them…even see your face projected onto 30-foot-tall evergreens. Wintertime food and drinks will be available along the route, and warming areas will keep you toasty. Located in Lisle, Ill., The Morton Arboretum is easily accessible via I-88.
When: November 22, 2013 to January 4, 2014. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. last entry at 8:30 p.m. The event will be closed November 28 and December 2, 9, 16, 24 and 25.
