I can’t believe it, but we’ve arrived at the end of 2014. 2014 was a pretty good year for us, and I’m looking forward to having a wonderful year in 2015 too!
We’ve always done pretty low-key New Year’s Eve celebrations, even before we became parents. Now that we have kids, we love to include them in the celebrating.
Netflix recently released six episodes of thier original series, All Hail King Julien. This is a Netflix original, but you probably remember the characters from the Madagascar movies. My kids love those movies so they were excited to see All Hail King Julien episodes appear on Netflix this month.
King Julien loves to celebrate so Netflix is offering a special celebratory NYE countdown so you can party with the kids. Some have suggested that this countdown is the perfect way to trick kids into believing it’s midnight and letting them see the countdown when it’s right for your family.
We usually send our kids to bed at their normal bedtime and then wake them just before midnight to watch the countdown and enjoy some festive drinks and snacks. After about half an hour, it’s back to bed. People call us crazy, but it works for us! With the special King Julien countdown, we might change plans a little and save the kids’ sleep from being disrupted in the middle of the night.
Before the countdown, we’ll enjoy a special dinner and some family movies. If you’re planning to do the same, here are some great Madagascar shows in case you just can’t get enough of King Julien and the Madagascar crew:
Or, check out a few holiday favorites before the season is really over:
Once the little ones are in bed, here are a few choices for adults and teens:
