It was starting to feel like summer would never return, but with the snow melting, temperatures inching up, and the snow coming out, I can feel it coming. With spring comes spring break; kind of a little practice run for summer. It’s the perfect time to #MarchIntoSavings with Walmart Family Mobile and I’m excited to tell you about it thanks to #CollectiveBias.
Like a lot of families, we’re on a budget, so getting quality phone service at a great price is important. Walmart Family Mobile has new 4G LTE service, with plans for unlimited talk, text, and data plans.
I visited my local Woodstock Walmart to purchase the Alcatel Evolve 2 phone and sign up for service. For a limited time, it’s only $39.83 (regularly $59.88). I purchased a $25 starter kit to get my service up and running, and signed up for their Walmart Family Mobile service. I chose the new 4G LTE service with Unlimited Talk, Text & Data with up to 500MB of 4G LTE data for only $29.88 per month for the first line.
Set up was really fast and easy. After paying for the phone and service, the clerk brought us to a desk to get the service set up. I played around with my kids while she worked, and a few minutes later we walked out with my new number and my new phone all ready to go.
I’ve been using my 4G LTE service for phone calls, texts, and sharing photos of my kids online and I love it.
The service I’ve had with Walmart Family Mobile has been reliable and the call quality is really good. It’s great to know that 4G LTE service is available at such a great price.
Spring break is in a few weeks for us and we’ll be spending it close to home, but I’m looking forward to using my 4G LTE service to reach friends and family for visits, to share photos and stories on social media sites, and in case I need to check online for nearby restaurants or get some directions to our destinations.
I thought I’d share a few tips that I think are helpful in preparing for spring break:
- Stay connected
Where would we be without GPS? I use the GPS on my phone all the time, especially when I’m going to new places so 4G LTE service is essential. And as much as we all want a hassle-free, drama-free spring break, emergencies do happen so it’s great to have reliable cell service. It can also be helpful if you need to update friends or family on plan changes, check in with the housesitter/petsitter, or find a YouTube video to keep a little one calm. Even if you choose to do a gadget-free trip or outing, you’re still going to want pictures to document your journey and destination. Whether you’re the type who wants to share those right away, or save them up for later, it’s nice to know the 4G LTE service is there if you need it.
If you’re on a budget, it can be hard to find extra money for spring break activities or trips. There are certain things you can’t do without, so it’s great when you can save money on the essentials, like your cell phone and service. Because Walmart Family Mobile has one of the lowest price unlimited plans, they’re a great option to help you put aside a little extra for family fun. There’s no contract, and because it’s not prepaid (you’ll be billed after each month) there’s no need to make a big upfront investment – you pay only the price of the phone and the $25 starter kit fee.
- Make a list
Whether you’re planning a few day outings, a short getaway, or a week-long vacation to a far off destination, make a list of the must-do activities. We’ll just be doing day trips so I’m working on my list of local places I’ve wanted to visit for a while or that we haven’t been to recently. If we were planning a vacation I’d be listing the restaurants and activities we’d want to try, as well as photos I’d want to be sure to get.
- Involve the family
My kids love being involved in planning. Before they can read, we have them draw pictures of the places they’d like to go or things they’d like to do. They often have simple requests, like go to the park, or take a bike ride, that are easy to fulfill. It’s fun to check things off each person’s list.
- Have fun!
There’s no reason to stress over preparing for spring break. In fact, studies have shown that sometimes the planning and anticipation of a trip can be just as relaxing as actually taking one.
