Parking: There is a large attached lot. Parking is $13 (cash only!), or $20 for valet parking.
Bathrooms: The bathrooms are large and had changing tables.
Nursing area: There is no designated nursing area.
Handicapped/stroller accessibility: I would not recommend bringing a stroller. The show is accessible to the handicapped.
Other amenities: There were a variety of Disney products available for purchase, both at the vendor tables in the lobby and from venders walking in the aisles of the theatre before the show and at intermission.
Food: Snack foods were available in the lobby; beverages, popcorn, cotton candy, etc.
We paid: We received complimentary tickets to the show, but paid $13 for parking and $24 for two Woody cowboy hats. Our tickets probably would have been approximately $15 each because opening night tickets were $15.
Our experience:
This was our second Disney Live show at the Rosemont Theatre, but the first with baby Campbell. We arrived shortly before the show and found our seats. We don’t usually buy souvenirs at the Disney shows because they’re so expensive, but John couldn’t resist the foam rubber Woody hats for the boys, and they were thrilled, of course.
The lights went down and Mickey and Minnie came out to start the show.
Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald were the hosts for the evening, coming out between each of the stories to do a small skit. The show was broken up into four main parts: Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, a Mickey and friends game, and Toy Story.
The first part of the show was a short version of the story of Aladdin and a short version of The Little Mermaid, lasting about 45 minutes all together. Next was an intermission of about 15 minutes, and then an hour that included Mickey and friends playing games and the Toy Story characters.
Aladdin and The Little Mermaid were similar to the previous Disney On Ice shows.The second half of the show was a bit more exciting. Mickey played a shell game with Minnie, Goofy, and Donald and asked the audience to yell out where they though the shell was. The audience seemed most excited about Toy Story; when Mickey announced Woody was coming onstage the kids seemed to go crazy. The Toy Story segment included the toy soldiers, Woody, Jessy, Bullseye (Woody’s horse), and Buzz Lightyear. Instead of telling on of the stories from the movie they had the toy soldiers twirling a jump rope for Woody, Jessy, and even Bullseye to jump.
After the jump rope was over, large balloons (planets) came out and were thrown off stage for the audience to bounce them around the room. With an outer space set, Buzz Lightyear joined Woody and Jessy on stage.
Mickey returned to end the show with a large musical number that included all the characters in the show. As the finished, there was an explosion and paper confetti shot out over the audience.
There were some fun songs throughout the show including Boom Boom Pow, Who Let the Dogs Out, Cotton Eyed Joe, and Single Ladies that the kids (and parents) recognized and sang and danced along to.
We were near the middle of the main floor of the theatre and had a pretty good view of the stage. There is a balcony in the theatre and I didn’t have a chance to go up there to check it out, but it seems like it may have been a bit more difficult to see from there.
We had a good time at the show. The kids enjoyed the whole show (Dexter spent most of it standing in front of his chair and leaning on the chair in front of him), but were particularly excited to see the Toy Story characters and thought that seeing Bullseye jump rope was the funniest thing. I was happy to see some characters other than the Mickey and friends and the princesses. I would love to see the Disney shows incorporate more of the non-princess stories, like Toy Story and the other Pixar movies.
