Our experience:

Disney on Ice is in Chicago right now celebrating 100 Years of Magic. We saw the show on opening night and I was pleased to see a variety of Disney characters.

Disney On Ice 100 Years of Magic - Toddling Around Chicagoland

The Disney shows often seem to be very princess heavy, but this one had a good mix – Aladdin, Finding Nemo, Beauty & the Beast, Toy Story, It’s a Small World, Pinocchio, Mulan, The Incredibles, and The Lion King, with Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy popping in and out in between. There was also one performance with the princesses and their princes – Belle, Cinderella, Ariel, Jasmine, Pocahontas, and Sleeping Beauty.

As with all the Disney shows, the costumes were really amazing. We were particularly enchanted by the sharks in the Finding Nemo portion of the show and the whale who swallowed Pinocchio’s Geppetto.

The Incredibles were the highlight of the show for my kids and the other kids in the audience seemed pretty excited about them too. (Why haven’t they made an Incredibles 2 movie??) Edna (the designer of the costumes) introduced each of the characters and did a little fashion show explaining the costumes she designed for them.

The Lion King was another popular part of the show. As soon as the music started there were cheers, presumably from the adults in the crowd.

The show was about 2 hours long with an intermission of about 15 minutes. It ended with a large finale with all the characters and some fireworks.
