Little Passports Review and Giveaway

As much as we travel and explore, we haven’t been able to take the kids out of the country yet. In fact, we’ve only made it out of the state a couple times. I’d love for my kids to learn about new places though, and Little Passports is a great way to do that.

Little Passports is a monthly subscription program; each month your child receives a package of fun educational materials about other parts of the world.

There are two editions of Little Passports available. The original World Edition, which is designed for children 5-10 years old, and the new U.S. Edition, designed for kids 7-12 years old. The first shipment of the World Edition comes in a sturdy suitcase your child can use to store their Little Passports items. A map, a passport, stickers, access to online activities, and more arrive in the first Explorer Kit, and each month after is a country specific package with stickers, letters, souvenirs, and activity sheets. The U.S. Edition arrives in a sturdy plastic pouch and includes a map, a scratch book, a US Field Guide, and a camera. Subsequent shipments include a travel journal, stickers, pop-out models, postcards, and access to online activities, focused on two states each month.

Little Passports offers several plan options, including 3, 6, or 12 months, varying in price from $10.95-$13.95 a month depending on the length of plan purchased and payment option chosen.

We got three months of the World Edition a while ago, but because Cooper was under the recommended age I decided to hold onto it for a little while until I thought he’d enjoy it a little more.

Little Passports just sent the Discovery Kit for the U.S. Edition recently so we could try that one out too. Cooper’s only 5 and the recommended age for the U.S. Edition in 7-12, but that just meant he needed a little more help with it. Cooper’s not reading much yet so John read the Field Guide to Cooper and help him fill in the answers. He had fun looking at the map and trying to find the state we lived in, pointing out state capitals, and looking at landmarks. After they finished using the map today John hung it in Cooper’s room so he could look at it and use it for future Little Passports activities.

Dexter was really interested in the map too and hung out at the table while John and Cooper worked on the package. Cooper really liked the scratch book too; he did the first page which shows the Oregon trail.

We didn’t get a chance to use the camera yet, but Cooper’s really looking forward to it. It was rainy and yucky outside, but he’s talking about places in our community he’d like to go to take pictures to work on the photography scavenger hunt.

We haven’t started the World Edition with Cooper yet, but plan to within the next couple days. Watch for a post in the future about what we think of it!
