Brag On Dad

Father’s Day is approaching and I’m always looking for an inexpensive but special way to let my husband know what a fantastic father he is and how much we appreciate him. In the past I’ve done this for Valentine’s Day. I thought about all the amazing things my husband has done for me and our kids; he does things every day but here are a few of the biggies just from the past year:

I decided that I should be bragging about him! To everyone! And then I thought, I bet other people would like to “Brag on Dad” too.

So, for the entire month of June, I will be posting a special “brag” each day on the Toddling Around Chicagoland Facebook page. This will be a chance to let the world (well, the portion of the world that follows Toddling Around Chicagoland, which is currently over 800 people!) know about the great dad in your life. If you want that special father in your life included, send me a message on Facebook or by email at ToddlingChicago@yahoo.com. The “dad” can be your dad, your husband/partner/child’s father, or any other father figure in your life or your child’s life.

I’ll choose the best brags to share and if I’m not able to choose the best ones for some reason I’ll start with the first ones I receive. I can’t guarantee that every brag will be shared. Also, Facebook does not always allow me to tag individuals from the Toddling Around Chicagoland page so the best way to be sure it’s seen by the dad you’re bragging about (& everyone else!) is to share the Toddling Around Chicagoland status that mentions them to your page & tag them yourself.

(Sorry Moms, I would have done this for Mother’s Day but I just thought of it. Maybe we’ll do a Mom themed brag month soon!)

Tell me why a Dad in your life is amazing. Send me a message on Facebook or email it to ToddlingChicago@yahoo.com. Thanks!

EDIT: Brag on Dad now has a prize! The Blue Basket is offering a randomly chosen Dad a Car Play Shirt. See this post for more information.

  1. What a great idea! I would love to brag about how awesome my husband is – although is not really part of social media, so not sure how he will feel about it.

Sending mine over tonight or tomorrow. Love this idea. Thanks so much for sharing! 🙂

  3. What a cool idea. I think it is important to remember just how special the Dads in our life really are!

  4. Love the bragging on dad topic! And DANG! What a brave dad to deliver the baby. Although he may not have had a choice. But still. That is pretty cool.

  5. what an amazing idea!!! I’ve been thinking about doing a brag/overcoming ptsd post for a while but have no idea how to word it.

  6. What a great idea! I have such a great husband too. He works constantly and supports our family. He does dishes when he gets home at 2am if I wasn’t able to get to them. He tucks the kids into bed on his nights off and lets me do things I need to do on the blog or around the house. I need to brag on him more often. 🙂

  7. This is such a great idea! hmmm…maybe I’ll submit my hubby. He’s a great dad. 🙂 Can’t wait to read them all.
