I’m very lucky to have children who enjoy going to school. They have amazing teachers, great friends, and they both genuinely enjoy learning new things.
Still, returning to school is a bit difficult. Our day is starting much earlier now than it did during the summer and bedtime is earlier; with occasional school events in the evenings, homework, and me working on the PTO, even our non-school hours are busy. The change in schedule is brutal on all of us and with both of the older kids in school all day now, Campbell’s feeling a little lonely.
Sometimes Campbell and I watch a show he loves together to help get his mind off his brothers, and sometimes I let him watch a show if there’s work I really need to get done. Lately he’s been requesting the new Netflix exclusive Dinotrux.
Dinotrux are half dinosaurs, half construction vehicles. Ty Rux, a Tyrannosaurus Trux, and his best friend, Revvit, a Reptool, work together to build a better world and to do battle against D-Structs, the “bad guy” who is always trying to destroy everything they build.
Campbell’s even got the older boys interested in Dinotrux too. They were really excited when they all got to go on a special Dinotrux scavenger hunt thanks to the Netflix #StreamTeam.
Dexter’s ready to go and here are the clues:
Campbell tracked down the treasure first, and all three boys were excited to find what was inside the box.
I know the kids want a break after school – and I don’t blame them! – but I love choosing shows they can learn something from. We’ve found a lot of shows on Netflix that are a great compromise – the kids love them and I know they are learning while they watch (even if they don’t realize it!).
One of the favorites lately has been the Odd Squad. All three kids love it. Even though Campbell is way to young to understand the math, I love that he’s interested in it and being exposed to numbers in a fun way.
