May 11, 2012 is National Public Gardens Day which means you can get free admission to a National Public Garden! Admission will not be free on that day, but you can register online to get a free pass. The pass is available immediately after you submit the registration; just print it out and save it for May 11. Below is a list of the participating gardens in Illinois:
- Cantigny Park – Winfield
- Chicago Botanic Garden – Glencoe
- Elmhurst College Arboretum – Elmhurst
- Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden – Rockford
- Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens – Rockford
- Rockford Park District – Rockford
- The Morton Arboretum – Lisle
- University of Illinois Arboretum – Urbana
