The Children’s Place: The Place for Back to School

The Children's Place - BTS - Toddling Around Chicagoland

I’m one of those nerdy people who gets all excited about back-to-school shopping. I love the displays of notebooks waiting to be filled, pens & markers full of fresh ink, and cute backpacks and lunch bags. And school clothes! As much as I love summer, the displays of jeans and long pants and bulky fall sweaters look pretty appealing. It brings back all the great memories of school for me and makes me so excited that my kids are starting on the same new adventure.

We stocked up on back-to-school clothes at The Children’s Place. They had a great selection of clothes that I loved and the kids loved. The Children’s Place always has clothes that are cute and stylish, but not to mature for kids. Check out some of the great things they have for back-to-school for kids of all ages:

Our haul: Three pairs of jeans, two pairs of pants, a pair of pajamas, five shirts, and 3 pairs of underwear. We also got 2 hats that didn’t make it into the picture. Grand total: About $125. Not too bad!

And we had a pretty snazzy outfit for Cooper to wear to his first day of kindergarten:

Despite my best efforts, I always find that the kids need something after school starts. Sometimes I’ve just forgotten to buy something, or they have a growth spurt and need bigger clothes. This year I stocked up on pants for Cooper, but the weather has been so warm he’s been wearing shorts to school, and probably will be for a while. His drawer is packed with shorts, but I realized most of them are not school-appropriate shorts; I was fine with them when he was running around and playing in the yard, but he has very few pairs I let him wear to school.

I signed up for emails from The Children’s Place so I always get notifications of sales and special offers. There have been some great deals lately so I was able to buy him a few more pairs of shorts for school and a couple other things he needed, and save a bunch of money doing it!
