The Polar Express has arrived in Chicago! Rides are scheduled from now through January 1, 2019.
The Polar Express is a VERY popular holiday event. It often sells out pretty quickly after tickets go on sale, which in most locations starts in June. The Polar Express at the Fox River Trolley Museum in South Elgin is completely sold out. The Chicago train is generally announced late, leaving tickets still available. Many dates and times are already sold out, and it’s likely the tickets left won’t last long.
The Polar Express Train Ride
The Polar Express Train Ride, modeled off of The Polar Express book and movie, will be a one-hour train ride through the city of Chicago. Riders are encouraged to attend in pajamas (although be sure to bundle up for the weather outside) and will experience a ride much like the children in the book and movie, with sounds from the movie soundtrack, the conductor punching each passenger’s golden ticket, and a treat of hot cocoa and a cookie. At the end of the ride, Santa will meet passengers with a special gift – a sleigh bell.
