Couture Fluff Review & Giveaway
Shortly after my first son was born I attended the Nursing Moms Network, a group for breastfeeding mothers, for the first time. In addition to getting tons of support and advice about breastfeeding and parenting in general, I was also introduced to an incredible group of moms and cloth diapers.
When I first started cloth diapering I realized pretty quickly that I liked pocket diapers, all-in-ones, and all-in-twos the best. I bought a little bit of everything to try out, including lots of WAHM (work-at-home-mom)-made diapers. Although some of them were kind of cute, I didn’t have much success with them. They often didn’t fit right and leaked. I wound up eliminating most of the WAHM diapers and sticking with mostly Fuzzi Bunz and Bum Genius.
Today I get to tell you about Couture Fluff diapers, which are sewn with love by Tanya, one of the mothers I became friends with at the Nursing Moms Network. I received an adorable superhero all-in-two diaper to review.
My two-year-old, Dexter, is not always enthusiastic about putting a diaper on (not that he’s enthusiastic about using the potty either, but he loved the superhero diaper and couldn’t wait to put it on. Can you blame him? How cute is this diaper?
The Couture Fluff AI2 has a three layer snap-in soaker. The top layer is made up of cotton velour and two layers of organic bamboo fleece. The bottom layer is two layers of organic bamboo fleece and cotton velour. The middle layer is two layers of cotton velour with a layer of zorb in between. The middle layer also snaps in so you can remove it if you want. As you can see in the first picture, none of the soaker snaps are exposed so they won’t touch your child.
Dexter wore this diaper lots of times (and I washed it lots) before I wrote this review. We love it! I was incredibly impressed with how well it’s made; definitely very professional quality. There were no irregularities (not even miniscule ones) and the diaper is holding up great. The fit is fantastic – no marks from the elastic and he was fully covered and comfortable. Dexter’s a very active child, but even with his climbing, wiggling, and wrestling the diaper stayed in place. It’s not too bulky either; it’s slightly more bulky than my Fuzzi Bunz, but probably the same as my Bum Genius diapers.
Dexter isn’t really a heavy wetter so we didn’t use the middle soaker at all. The diaper was very absorbent and we never had even the slightest leak. I do love that the middle soaker is there as an option; I would definitely use it for a heavy wetter, especially at night. Dexter loves the diaper and still asks to wear it which tells me that he’s comfortable in it. In all honesty, if I had the money I would love to get rid of my other diapers and use Couture Fluff instead. For Dexter the fit is as good or better and I love all the fantastic designs. It’s not easy to get a 2-year-old to lay down for a diaper change so every little bit helps!
Couture Fluff offers a range of diapers, including fitted (with or without snaps), hybrid fitted, AI2 (all in 2), wool wraps, and winged prefolds, and lots of other items – wipes, wetbags, blankies, teethers, leggies, paperless towels, and hooded bath towels. The diapers are adorable and be sure you check out the fabric selection for custom diapers!
Be sure you stop by the Couture Fluff Facebook page and like it to see new and in progress diapers and get all the latest news from Couture Fluff. You’ll even get a peak at all the work Tanya does late into the night (and sometimes into the early morning) to create these fantastic diapers.
And now the best news: one lucky person will win $10 credit to Couture Fluff!
