My 3-year-old Dexter is still in diapers and seems to have no desire to get out of them any time soon. Sigh. Although we’ve used cloth diapers for a majority of his diapered years, lately they don’t seem to be keeping him dry so we’ve switched to disposables. I was offered the chance to try out Kidgets diapers and wipes, available only at Family Dollar.
We visited Family Dollar to pick up Kidgets diapers and wipes. They had a selection of different size packages of both diapers and wipes and I was pleasantly surprised at the prices. The jumbo bags of diapers (size 4 contains 31 diapers) are only $6.50, making the diapers less than 21 cents each.
The wipes are reasonably priced too – only $2 for 72 wipes in either a hard case or a soft travel pack. They come in lightly scented and unscented. I got the lightly scented and they smell a little like baby powder.
The Kidgets diapers have a cute pattern on them and the size is prominent on the front and back. This is helpful if you have more than one child in diapers. Campbell’s still in newborn diapers, but as he moves into larger sizes I could see grabbing the wrong diaper so I thought that was a great feature.
The diapers seemed to fit him well and he told me they were comfortable. They were snug but not tight and there is plenty of coverage in the back – another great feature because there’s nothing worse than a messy shirt and pants because the diaper is too low.
Dexter’s a pretty heavy wetter and started to leak a lot when he was in cloth diapers so I’m always concerned about leaks. As I expected, he peed a lot while wearing the Kidgets diaper, but there wasn’t any leaking.
The wipes are pretty good quality too. They’re soft and seemed to do the job just as well as other wipes we’ve used.
Overall, I thought Kidgets were comparable to Pampers, Huggies, and some of the other disposables we’ve tried. I feel like they are a great value and I’d definitely recommend them to someone looking to save money on disposable diapers and wipes.

Hi Emily,
Thanks for commenting. I don’t own Kidgits or Family Dollar and I’m not employed by either of them, I’m just a mom & blogger and wrote about using them. Sorry I can’t help.
Size 4 will fit on your 3 yer old. They must be good sized diapers?
My son was born a preemie so in the NICU they gave me some pamper diapers to take home so I was in family dollar and I seen midget newborns for only $5.50 and man I love these diapers so much great quality ofdiapers and affordable and hold in those leaks.
