Chicago Bucket List

We’re moving! In the next couple months we’ll be moving out of the city of Chicago. Have no fear, we’ll still be “toddling around Chicagoland”, but with a different starting point for our adventures. I’m a Chicagoan since birth and I’ll require regular trips back into the city limits, but I also feel like I need to fill our remaining time here with Chicago adventures for the kids, so I’m working on a Chicago Bucket List – a list of things to do and places to go before our Chicago citizenship bites the dust. And I’m looking for your help: If you had just a limited time in Chicago, what would be on your Chicago Bucket List?

Comments

  1. The aquarium, Lincoln Park Zoo, Navy Pier + kids museum there, and Ed Debevic's for the kids. Carson's ribs for mommy – but I don't know how the kids would handle it. Oh, Chinatown too – can you tell the thing I miss most about Chicago is the food? And BTW – next visit to your house we are getting Parisi's!!!

  2. My favorite things for my kids in the city:
    Crown Fountain,
    Museum of Science and Industry,
    Indian Boundary playground,
Lincoln Park Zoo (including the carousel and, for tall enough kids, the climbing tree),
Sunday afternoon kids concerts at Beat Kitchen,
the kids' learning room at the Art Institute (does not require museum admission),
Puppet Bike (use Twitter to find him)
Ride the El and the bus (If your kids are like mine this is a simple thrill!)

  3. I come for places to visit and things to do recommendations here 🙂 But want to wish you good luck for your move and hope you are able to best use the time you have left here in the city!
