The holidays are about giving, but sometimes it can be difficult to find a gift that will really stand out and be something that will excite the recipient. I’ve created this list of some unique gifts that you can still get in time for Christmas that are sure to be outside the norm.
BrickSwag
Have a house full of Legos? Lego-lovers of all ages will adore BrickSwag. BrickSwag will send your recipient an exclusive LEGO-Themed T-shirt, LEGO bricks to keep, Funky Fig Trading Cards, Build Magazine, and more surprises, and they’ll get these shipped to them each month. It’s the gift that keeps giving!
BrickSwag subscriptions can be purchased monthly, or as 3-month, 6-month, or one year recurring subscriptions, and it’s as low as $20 per month plus shipping and handling.
And just in case you’re wondering… the BrickSwag t-shirts can be youth sizes or adult, up to 3XL because you don’t have to be a kid to love BrickSwag.
Sneaky Cards Game
This is a cool looking game. Sneaky Cards turns players into secret agents of joy. This 55-card encourages you to do things like buy coffee for someone, or take a selfie with a stranger. When you complete the challenge, you “play it forward” by passing it on to the recipient of the challenge. The game is recommended for ages 10 and up and would be a great family activity or something for older children or adults to play with friends.
This is a great inexpensive gift or stocking stuffer because it’s only $9.99.
iFLY
I’ve visited each of the two Chicago locations and flown twice each time and it’s a blast. Read all about my first indoor skydiving experience in my post Reaching New Heights with iFLY. I’m very, very afraid of heights, but there is nothing scary about indoor skydiving – there’s no falling, and no heights to speak of. You start out on the ground and then you enter a vertical wind tunnel that allows you to fly. A trainer is in the tunnel with you instructing you throughout the flight so it’s not scary at all.
iFLY has locations in Rosemont and Naperville and gift vouchers can be purchased on their website. Kids as young as 3 can fly so this is a great gift for anyone!
Green Screen
It’s a little off the wall, but why not try something really different? A green screen is a backdrop that allows you to easily alter photos or videos to superimpose a different background, people, or objects.
Amazon sells green screens of all sizes and types and many of them are available with Prime shipping. If you want just the screen itself you can get one for about $20, or get the whole shebang – backdrop, backdrop support, and lighting kit – for around $100. This could be a great family gift which could be pulled out for photo or video projects, party backdrops, and holiday cards. There are lots of resources online that offer backgrounds and other tools to edit your photos or videos.
