Walgreens Web Pickup – Happy, Healthy, & Easy

Walgreens Web Pickup - 2nd order - Toddling Around Chicagoland

My kids have been so anxious for some snow this winter because we really haven’t had any… until now.

The kids were really excited to play in it, but I was not so thrilled about dragging kids bundled up in coats, hats, mittens, and snow boots, plus a newborn in a carrier, through the store to do our shopping. With two kids and a baby in the house, shopping can’t wait for good weather! This seemed like the perfect time to try out Web Pickup from Walgreens.

I heard Walgreens has a mobile app so I checked that out first. It has some great features: store locator, mobile coupons, weekly ads, prescription refill by scan, and Balance Rewards. They even have Bonus Buys on the app – these are sale items that aren’t advertised in the weekly circular.

Next I looked at the Walgreens website and found a coupon for $5 off your first Web Pickup order if you spend $20!

I logged into my account so I could shop with my Balance Rewards card that I already registered online. I browsed around the site and it was very easy to navigate. I chose my local Walgreens store and then I was able to find items by using the categories or the search bar. It was easy to find everything I needed – a bubble mailer envelope for something I need to ship, some Kleenex (with lotion, of course!) for all the runny noses in our house, ear plugs in adult and child size for Monster Jam, and an absolute essential with a little baby in the house – gas relief drops. I entered my information and my credit card number and placed my order. I opted to get an email and text message when my order was available for pickup. You can pick your items up in as little as one hour!

As it continued to snow, I realized that the roads weren’t safe enough to go out driving with the kids. Luckily, Walgreens Web Pickup gives you 48 hours to pick up your order. I decided to put it off until the next day when the roads would be thoroughly plowed and salted.

The next day I bundled up the kids and dropped Cooper off at school. Then Dexter, Campbell, and I headed to Walgreens to pick up my order. Dexter was anxious to get home to play so he wasn’t thrilled about going shopping, but he was pretty happy when I told him our order was all ready for us.

I even got a little smile from him when I told him. Meanwhile, Campbell was snuggled in his car seat taking a little nap.

The instructions on the website and in my email said I just needed to go to the photo counter of my local Walgreens to pick up my order. They already had my credit card information, but the credit card wouldn’t be charged until I picked up my items.

What’s even better than having my stuff ready and waiting for me? Not having to get out of the car! I found this parking space at our Walgreens for curbside Web Pickup. There’s a phone number to call upon arrival to have your Web Pickup order brought out to your car. Dexter was even happier that he didn’t have to get out and I was thrilled to keep everyone snug and warm in the car. I called and was connected to a Walgreens employee. I had my order number ready, but they just needed my name.

A couple minutes later someone brought my Web Pickup order right to the car. They already had my credit card and Balance Rewards card information so they just handed me my bag.

Here’s my order! I got everything I needed and it was so fast and easy!

Cooper used his earplugs at Monster Jam.

I’m really pleased with how smooth the process was and I’ll definitely be using Walgreens Web Pickup again. In fact, I’ve already placed my second order and picked it up today (that’s it at the top of this post)! I love that I can get more errands done and I don’t have to worry about dragging my kids all through the store while they whine about how long it’s taking and beg for every toy and junk food item they see. What a great way to keep us #happyhealthy!
