Puritan’s Pride Summer Essentials – Review, Promo Code, & Giveaway

Puritan's Pride Summer Essentials - Toddling Around Chicagoland

School may have started, but summer is not over yet! I tested out some great summer essentials recently from Puritan’s Pride. Here’s some information from the Puritan’s Pride website:

Puritan’s Pride (www.puritan.com) was founded over 40 years ago with a health and wellness mission that focused on making the finest quality nutritional supplements available at the best value to their customers. Today, the company remains true to its original commitment and serves over six million loyal customers. Puritan’s Pride manufactures more than 1,400 vitamins, minerals, herbs and other nutritional supplements in its state-of-the art facilities located throughout the U.S. As part of the company’s commitment to quality, Puritan’s Pride uses only ingredients from suppliers that meet their specific Quality Assurance Standards, and adheres to the FDA’s Good Manufacturing Practices food quality standards.

My summer essentials kit included:

  • Puritan’s Pride Aloe Vera Natural Moisturizing Cream
  • Puritan’s Pride Aloe Vera 85 percent Natural Moisturizing Lotion
  • Tea Tree Oil for Insect Bites
  • Little Twig Sun Screen
  • Oat Protein Complex Sunscreen
  • Vitamin E Cream
  • Essential Oil Blend for Relaxation after the sun
  • Acai Splash Energizing Drink for a boost in the sun

I have been using the Kiss My Face sunscreen for myself and the Little Twig sunscreen for the kids since we got them. We’ve spent a lot of time outside and they’ve worked great. The Little Twig sunscreen goes a long way; just a tiny squeeze from the bottle covers an entire arm or leg of one of the older kids (& I put it on thick) or two of Campbell’s arms or legs.

John’s been drinking AcaiSplash and enjoying it. The serving size is small – only 2 tablespoons mixed in with water – so a bottle goes a long way!

I LOVE the Lemon essential oil. It smells so good! Add a few drops to some water for a kitchen and bathroom cleaner, or a drop to the dishwasher to help the dishes come out spot free. I’ve heard that lemon essential oil can be used as an insect repellent so I plan to try that when we use our fire pit in the backyard this fall.

If we do wind up with insect bites we have the tea tree oil to help out. We’ve been pretty fortunate so far this summer and haven’t had too many. We sometimes cloth diaper (I’m not very consistent about it lately) and tea tree oil is great for cloth diapering. It works as a freshener for cloth diaper laundry and the cloth diaper pail or wet bag.

I’m generally not a big cream or lotion person so I don’t have much to compare the Puritan’s Pride Aloe Vera Natural Moisturizing Cream or the Puritan’s Pride Aloe Vera 85% Natural Moisturizing Lotion to, but I like them both. I also plan to use them this winter when I get really dry skin. The Vitamin E Cream should come in handy for healing my dry skin also.
