Quaker Fuels My Family

Quaker Fuels My Family - Toddling Around ChicagolandDisclosure: I’m excited to be writing this sponsored post on behalf of Quaker.

I have 3 little boys so I’m sure you can imagine how crazy our house is sometimes. My little boys are pretty physically active and I like to encourage that. We go on outings and try to stay active as a family. I try to be sure the food I serve, especially breakfast (it is the most important meal of the day!), provides the fuel my kids need to stay active throughout the day. Of course, it has to be delicious too so that the kids will actually eat it, and convenient for me. Quaker offers great convenient and delicious breakfast options.

Quaker has a wide selection of oat-based breakfast products that help to fuel families in all their physical activities throughout the day. Here are just a some of the options:

  • Old Fashioned Quaker Oats – 100% whole grain oats. This is a staple in our house. I love the versatility – I can make oatmeal for breakfast, or cookies, or find some great oat recipes on Pinterest.
  • Quaker Perfect Portions – Oatmeal in an easy, resealable package that allows you to make a lot or a little, and there’s no sugar added so you can choose whether to sweeten it or not.
  • Quaker Real Medleys – Oatmeal with chunks of real fruit and nuts in convenient single-serve cups.
  • Quaker Granola Bars – A quick breakfast or snack with 8 grams of whole grains and no high fructose corn syrup.

Quaker even offers breakfast cookies made with oatmeal; definitely not an everyday breakfast, but I’d feel much better giving my kids a Quaker breakfast cookie as a special treat than a donut. There’s also my personal favorite: Quaker Soft Baked Bars. I can’t get enough of them. You can eat them right out of the package or heat them up in the microwave for a warm bar.

We had Quaker Perfect Portions for breakfast this morning. It’s so convenient to make a small bowl for one kid or for myself, or to make a larger amount for all of us. I especially love that there is no sugar added; the kids often want a little syrup or brown sugar in their oatmeal, but sometimes they’re happy with it just the way it is.

My kids had a meal I knew would give them the energy to stay active throughout the day and they liked it!

My kids are huge fans of Quaker granola bars too. We have them with breakfast or as a snack to give a little energy boost.

To fuels their mission to keep kids active, Quaker partners with Major League Soccer (MLS) club The Chicago Fire and serves as the title sponsor of the Chicago Fire Juniors, the club’s youth player development program that supports more than 10,000 soccer kids and families in Chicago and nationally. The Quaker Invitational August 9-11, 2013, will bring together hundreds of Chicago Fire Juniors teams from around the country for a weekend of soccer, community and fun. The two winning youth teams will earn a chance to play on The Chicago Fire’s home field, Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL on Sunday, August 11, and each player in the tournament will receive a free game ticket to attend the Chicago Fire vs. Montreal Impact MLS game at Toyota Park on Saturday, August 10.

In addition to the Chicago Fire, Quaker has joined forces with national and local organizations to reach families through nourishment, education and physical activity including the National Football League, Fuel Up to Play 60, the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women Movement and Common Threads.
