Free MSI tickets for CPS students

Science of Storms at the MSI Chicago

The first day of school is important. There may not be a lot of traditional school work on the first day, but attending helps students and teachers familiarize themselves, gives students a chance to learn rules and routines, and starts out the year with a good routine. Research indicates that the more a child attends school, the more likely they are to succeed.

Because the first day of school is so important, the Museum of Science and Industry has partnered with the Chicago Public Schools for the 12th year to offer a special incentive to families to start the school year of right. Every CPS student from kindergarten through 12th grade who attends the first day of school on September 4, 2018, will receive a family pass for the Museum of Science and Industry.

Vouchers will be distributed to students with their information packets on the first day of school. Each voucher is good for free admission to the museum for up to three adult or child tickets to the museum. The are valid throughout the entire school year, from September 4 through June 18, 2019. The voucher is only good in-person, and not for online ticketing, and it is good for general admission; tickets for The Science Behind Pixar, the U-505 on-board tour, Coal Mine, WOW! Tour, or Giant Dome Theater films must be purchased separately.
