I love staying busy and adventuring with my family. Unfortunately, sometimes pain hits when you’re not expecting it. I want to be prepared so I can start relieving pain fast when it happens so we can enjoy our day.
I suffer from migraine headaches and nothing can derail a fun day out like a mommy with a migraine. I do my best to prevent them, but when I do start to feel a migraine coming on the best thing I can do is take some pain reliever as soon as possible. Since I never know that will be, I need to keep pain reliever close at all times.
I also like to have some pain reliever available for the kids, just in case. It’s rare that we need it, but I’ve learned that pain from earaches or emerging teeth can come on FAST. I remember an outing to the zoo one day and the kids were playing an happy one minute, and then Cooper said his ear hurt a little. Within half an hour he was sobbing and we were rushing out of the zoo and to the doctor, who confirmed it was an ear infection.
It’s no fun to end an outing with a kid in pain, especially when you can’t do anything to alleviate it fast. I decided I should really have a health & wellness kit packed so we have easy access to pain relievers and other supplies, especially when we’re out having fun.
The kids and I visited our local Walgreens to find what we needed for our health & wellness kit.
Everything we needed was easy to find at Walgreens. #WellatWalgreens products are always available at great prices, and since I’m a Walgreens Balance Rewards member I knew my purchases would earn rewards.
For our health & wellness kit I purchased:
- Walgreens Pain Reliever and Fever Reducer in Bubble Gum Flavor
- Walgreens Pain Reliever Extra Strength Quick Gels
- Band-Aids for the kids (Dexter picked princess ones)
- “Grown up” Band-Aids
- No-touch antibiotic spray (for cuts or scrapes)
- A carrying case to put it all in
During the month of March, Well at Walgreens products are buy one, get one 50% off. I paid only $2.99 for the Children’s Pain Reliever because I purchased the adult pain reliever.
Here’s my health & wellness kit all ready to go. I even added some stickers to give the kids to distract them and cheer them up if they’re hurt or in pain.
Walgreens has also made the Way to Well Commitment®. Since February 1, 2011 and through December 31, 2014, Walgreens is putting 1¢ from the purchase of every Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness product (up to $3 million annually) will support bringing preventative wellness services to local communities. I love that my purchase to help my family stay healthy and pain-free helps to keep others healthy as well.
Thanks to #CollectiveBias and #WellatWalgreens for sponsoring this post so I can share all this great information with you!
Do you keep a first aid kit? What’s in yours? Is there anything you’d add that I didn’t include?
Great kit! I agree that things happen fast with kids. I also keep a kid safe benedryle gel on hand for my kids and the possible hives or mosquito bites. #client
